Halloween Feast
Friday 30 October 2026
Spitalfields City Farm, Buxton Street, London, E1 5AR (map)
We had a spook-tacular evening on Friday with a full house of guests, lots of joy and laughter, a glowing firepit, and delicious food - the perfect way to celebrate Halloween together! No tricks, only treats!
The jack-o-lanterns were hung, the tea lights laid along the wood-chipped path, and a clear, bright evening was drawing in… we were all set for our Halloween Feast at the delightful Spitalfields City Farm. For those of you who have been to the farm, you will know how special this place is. Tucked into a bit of land a stone’s throw from Brick Lane, it is a sanctuary for many different kinds of plant and animal life - and on Friday, to our Mike’s Table crew!
We welcomed guests at the gates and signposted them towards the glowing fire pit and adorned tent canopy, where front-of-house staff were waiting with a warming homemade brew of non-alcoholic fire cider. We soon had a full house of 32 guests - welcoming 7 staff from the farm, along with 25 from our network. In the kitchen Andi and Simon were joined by previous Mike’s Table guests Nafa and Anja who were true naturals in the kitchen! Nafa drew on her Sri Lankan heritage to devise the Vegan main course. Delicious!
The tent was full of laughter, with guests making new friends and chatting to their neighbours. Soon it was time for our raffle, with a great spread of prizes including hand-knitted halloween-themed crochet toys (including a witch is her hat!), a voucher for an animal encounter at the farm, a voucher to Westwell Winery Tour, lovely toiletries, and some fabulous plants. It was joyous! We then served Daniel’s spectacular pumpkin-spiced muffins with bowls of homemade custard made by Eleanor. Then guests and volunteers gathered around the firepit and chatted. We simply didn’t want the night to end. Thank you so much to Spitalfields City Farm, and especially Phil for supporting us. Much gratitude to all our amazing volunteers and to John for capturing the spirit of the evening in his fabulous photos - we hope you enjoy them!
